First of Two Super Cents
This is the first post of many to come where I offer some fresh, level-headed perspectives on the geeky topics of today's superheroes, their movies, their rumors, and the people behind them. As a fellow geek/nerd and not some media junky who is paid to look up some stuff on wikipedia and then write an article as if to throw a bone to the dogs (the dogs would be us in this analogy) let me tell you what you will get out of this blog:
1. Opinions.
Is that a normal thing to post on the internet? Some would say so. I know writing opinions about something you are passionate about is fairly common, but I really want to do this with other people in mind. I want to get people thinking. I want to help people who are "noobs" to the world of superheroes some material that will be easy to understand without doing loads of homework.
2. Rants
I know this can be categorized with Opinions but, as nice as I sounded in the first paragraph, I don't want to limit myself to never being able to release some pent-up rage about various nerd topics whether it be as small as the design of a superhero's outfit or as large as a disagreeable political statement the media is trying to make with my beloved superheroes. Yeah, I will complain unapologetically sometimes.
3. Respect
In a world where you can be censored for talking about God in a respectful manner, but invoke his name for irreverent emphasis and you're cool... we are playing by my rules here. Also call me old-fashioned or even prudish but you will never see use of the "F"word on this blog (although the word "effing" may pop up. But I think that word has evolved into its own form of emphasis and isn't meant to make you think of a violent/vulgar sexual act. Other swears and curses will not be use either but there may be some exceptions - let's say PG since I want the youth to feel comfortable here as well.
4. Rumors
If it hasn't happened yet, that's all it ever will be. I will express my hopes and views on how I feel about the rising rumors, but let's not take anything too seriously... okay?
So maybe it's because I met the legend himself, Mr. Stan Lee, last week but I want this to be a fun, friendly environment because that's what he is. I also wish to find a cool sign out tagline but for now I will borrow Stan's.
